WelcomeBorn in Vancouver, Andrew Yang started his ‘love affair’ with music at the age of six. In 2007, at the age of 14, Andrew completed the ARCT Diploma in Piano Performance and in 2010 the Licentiate Diploma with the Royal Conservatory of Music. For his achievement he was awarded a Silver Medal (the highest mark in British Columbia) and a Gold Medal (the highest mark in Canada in 2010). Twice, in 2005 and in 2010, he was the winner in the National Canadian Music Competition. For his outstanding performances Andrew has won numerous awards and scholarships from provincial (BC) and national music festivals and competitions. In May 2009, Andrew was invited to play a solo piano recital in the Young Talents series for the Vancouver Chopin Society.
“Very impressive, musical and insightful player”,”brilliant fingerwork”, “very professional and convincing” ”splendid performance”,”very beautiful and poised”,”a poetic reading, delicate and transparent”. These are some of the comments Andrew has been receiving after his performances from such pianists as John Perry, Anton Kuerti, Lee Kum-Sing, Krzysztof Jablonski and Zhang Jin. Besides his pianistic accomplishments, Andrew is also a high achiever in Gr.12 at Vancouver College, a Catholic High School, where he is a member of the President Honour’s Society. Andrew has been studying piano in Edmonton with Anna Domanska since 2007. He is seriously considering a career as a professional pianist.
